Mrs. SarahDarling - RECAP! (Part I)
It's almost been a week since the wedding and it truly seems like a dream. Hold on to all those memories girls and stop during the night to savour each moment because it will be gone before you know it! How about we go back and I try to remember all those special moments..shall we? Night Before:
My mom, sister, maid of honour and I went to a local salon for manicures and pedicures. I'd never had either before so it was nice to be pampered. After that we went back to my place, another bridesmaid joined us, for pizza, junk food and to watch "The Hangover". As I laid in bed that night I had a million thoughts fly through my mind and went from calm, to slightly sick, to jittery and finally asleep. Morning Of: Woke up at 9am, shaved my legs and ate breakfast. The girls arrived around 930am and we started hair and makeup. Everyone was shocked at how calm I was. They kept wanting me to be nervous and freak out, but when you know things are right, there's nothing to worry about. I mean, of course I was worried that the cupcakes wouldn't turn out right or the hall would mess up, but all that really mattered was that Jeff showed up with the rings and marriage license. I called Jeff around noonish to see how he was doing and he tells me he's ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY with a flat. Seriously?? He hit a big piece of wood that was on the road and it messed the rim up. Luckily, him and the groomsman who was with him are big car guys so they changed the tire in 5 minutes and were able to continue on their way. Getting to the Venue:
On our way to the hotel to get changed for pictures we stopped at the venue to pick up the flowers and see how things were going. Overall, the hall was pretty good. We just had to move a couple tables and give a couple last minute instructions. When I saw our flowers for the first time I almost cried. They were GORGEOUS and totally magazine worthy. I didn't want to let go of them all night and I really hope our photog got some good pictures. Hotel and Pictures:
Our room was upgraded to a jacuzzi suite and we had tons of room to get all the girls dressed. When my sister was doing up the corset back on my dress I kept telling her to do it tighter, which I regretted later because I could barely breath! At this point I was sooooo anxious to see Jeff. I spoke to his groomsmen at one point who said he was so nervous he couldn't sit still (so cute). Finally, at 330pm I got the o.k. that he was in place for our "first look" moment. All us girls piled into the elevator and I went down to the lobby to see my hubby to be. (to be continued) ps. yes, it snowed...in April. On my wedding day!
